William "Bill" Edward Sanders, 68 of Dickson, TN, passed away Wednesday March 22, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mabel Yowell Sanders, and his beloved daughter Laura Elizabeth Sanders. He is survived by his son Matthew Thomas Sanders of Dickson, TN, and his brothers Don Sanders (Millicent) of Bartlett, TN and Robert Sanders (Susan) of Franklin, TN, his sister Tracey J. Bush (Patrick) of Alabaster, AL, his cousin Mary Virginia Heinrich (Carl) of Bartlett, TN, and many nieces, nephews.

A 197 2 graduate of Wooddale High School , Bill attended the University of Memphis and Southwest Tennessee Community College earning a Civil/Construction engineering degree. He retired from the State of Tennessee as a bridge inspector in 2015.

Bill was a nature lover , avid hiker, and camper. Exploring our national parks filled his retirement with adventures. Through photography he recorded the beauty of nature along his travels. He also loved the Lay Cistercians of Gethsemani Abbey , and always referred to it as one of the "thin spots" where you could hear God. He cherished the friendships made there.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m at Forest Hill Funeral Home - East located at 2440 Whitten Rd in Memphis. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29th at the Funeral Home with interment to follow after.
