William Donnie Shelton, Jr., died Friday, March 13, 2020 at Signature Healthcare of Primacy in Memphis, TN. He was 73 years of age at the time of his passing.

He leaves his son, Robert Michael Shelton and his wife Lindsey Aston Shelton with their son Hunter Michael Shelton; and his two brothers David Cochran Shelton (Judy) and Michael Gwinn Shelton.

Don was born and raised in Memphis, the son of William Donnie Shelton and Mary Agnes Gwinn Shelton.

Don was a man of compassion and service, with a lifelong focus on helping people through their struggles. He was tied deeply with the Alcoholics Anonymous community, with over 33 years of service sponsoring individuals through their recovery.

He was an extremely talented golfer, passing down his knowledge and skills to his son, Michael.

Don's guiding purpose in life was to "treat others as you would like them to treat you." He lived by this purpose and went out of his way to embrace everyone who was lucky to cross his path.

Don loved the outdoors, particularly turkey, duck and deer hunting, which he built many memories upon his involvement through these activities with his son.

Those who know and remember Don all say the same thing; "He helped them through their toughest times in life." If there was ever a man who put others first, and himself last, it was William Donnie Shelton, Jr. Rest in Peace.
