William "Rollo" Roland Wilkinson Sr., 90, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, June 12, 2023. Rollo graduated from South Side High School in Memphis, TN. He married the love of his life, Dorris (Wall) on July 20, 1953 at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Memphis. They had two sons, William "Buddy" Roland Wilkinson Jr. and Richard Clay Wilkinson. He retired from the Memphis Fire Department as Captain after 30 years of service. He played and coached many sports, but was especially fond of baseball. Rollo was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS, and a former member of Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. He loved doting on his grandchildren, Megan, Kristin, Shelby, Bryant, Trey, and Peyton.
Rollo was preceded in death by his mother Sally Taylor Wilkinson, his father James Hansel Wilkinson, his brother, Robert Hansel Wilkinson, his son, Buddy Wilkinson and his grandson-in-law, Heman Patel.
He leaves behind his wife, Dorris of Olive Branch, MS; his son, Clay (Dawn) of Hernando, MS; his grandchildren, Megan Sharp (Blake) of Hernando, MS, Kristin Patel of Hernando, MS, Shelby Albonetti (Abel) of Austin TX, Bryant Wilkinson (Samantha) of Olive Branch, MS, Trey Wilkinson of Nashville, TN, and Peyton Wilkinson of San Antonio, TX; His great-grandchildren, Sterling, Sienna & (soon-to-be) Sawyer Sharp, Shawn Patel, Brady, Kinley, & Casen Albonetti, and Riley Wilkinson.
Rollo never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his willingness to help anyone, and his love for Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to LaBelle Haven Baptist Church Building Fund.
