Willie Carl Hindman passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 27, 2025, surrounded by family. He spent his last weeks at Reynold's Hospice House at Collierville Baptist Hospital, where he was cared for with such tenderness, support and compassion by an amazing staff. We thank you for your loving service. He was born in Louisville MS to the late Marion Andrew Hindman and Letha Hindman Carl moved to Memphis and married the love of his life Gloria in 1955. He worked for Dover Elevator for 45 years. Carl enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and being in the "Good Old Boys" Band. He was an accomplished Rhythm guitar player, and had an amazing voice that soothed one's soul, Carl lived his personal faith in the Lord every day and was a wonderful follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He practiced humility and experienced joy in the simplest of things, had a smile for everyone and his dedication to our Lord permeated through his love. Carl was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Hindman, his son William Andrew Hindman, grandson Matthew Daulton Hindman, along with siblings; Arnell (Jettye), Ruth (James) Wallace (Claudine), Jodie (Frank), and his baby brother Paddie Ray. Carl survived by his beloved sons and daughters-in-laws: David (Kathy), Jeff (Deborah) and Jason (Dana). Grandchildren Lindsay Cole (Andrew), Zachary Hindman, Kelly Villarreal (Alex), Jacob Hindman (Melissa) and Hannah Hindman (Kevin), Dr Stephen Juel (Emily). Five great grandchildren, River and Josie Cole, Rafael Hindman, Frances and Walker Juel. Sister Helen Bush of Texas and numerous nephews and nieces. He was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew him. Most importantly, he leaves a legacy of joy and contentedness in all situations, a true inspiration. He will live in our hearts forever.
There will be a graveside service for Carl at Forest Hill South Cemetery, 2545 East Holmes Road, Memphis TN on Tuesday Sept 2 at 10:00 am.
