Mr. Wylie "Dub" Cordale Carter, 88, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his residence in Iuka, MS.

Born in Memphis, TN on December 28, 1933, he was the son the late Percy  Carter and Martha Marie Goldman. A former resident of Memphis, TN, he attended Southside High School graduating in 1954. He enlisted into the United States Army serving two years of active service. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he married Barbara Williamson Carter, his spouse of 64 years. He worked for International Harvester and Shelby County Sheriff's Department where he retired as a Lieutenant. After retirement from the Sheriff's department he and his wife, Barbara, retired to "Pickwick" in 1990 where they together busied themselves doing lawn maintenance for many clients for 25 years. When Dub wasn't busy working, he loved to go drop a line in the lake to see if the fish were biting. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Counce, TN. Wylie's greatest joy was taking care of those he loved and feeling that same depth of love returned to him. Nothing in life mattered more than his family.

Wylie was preceded in death by his parents brother Raymond Carter, and his grandson, Chad Cordale Carter.

Wylie is survived by his wife, Barbara Carter; one son, Dwayne Carter (Ruby); one daughter, Denise Doyle; one grandson, Justin Doyle; and many family members and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00p.m. at Forest Hill East Funeral Home 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133. Burial will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery 2545 E. Holmes Rd., Memphis, TN 38118.
